An Easy Golf Stance TipIf you're looking for a helpful golf stance tip than this article may just be what you're looking for. The golf stance is an often overlooked but critically important part of your golf game. Weight Distribution In The StanceThe first golf stance tip that we'll cover is your weight distribution. The goal in your golf stance is to maintain an athletic posture. Your weight should be distributed in your feet in such a way is to maximize your stability, power, and agility. If you look at a good golfer when they address the ball, you'll notice what an athletic setup looks like. How will you know if you golf stance is athletic? The next time you're on the golf driving range, address the ball as you normally would without a golf club. Let your hands hang down at your sides. Your weight should be centered on the balls of your feet. If you do this properly, your hands will rest several inches in front of your legs. If your weight is improperly on your heels, your hands will fall to the sides of your legs. To summarize, your weight should be on the balls of your feet. Your weight should also be distributed equally between your left and right feet. Testing It OutTo test out this golf stance tip, ask a friend to try and push you over. Gently! This isn't a football tackle. As you setup to the ball (without a club), practice placing your weight on the balls of your feet, with your weight equally distributed between left and right feet. Your friend will approach you from the front and try to push you backwards by pushing on your shoulders. Can't push you over? Great! This is half of the test... Next, your friend should try and push you forward by pushing on your back. If you don't fall forward, it means that you have your weight properly distributed and you are practicing an athletic golf stance. Distance of Your FeetThe next golf stance tip we'll cover is the distance that your feet are part. As a general rule, your feet should be roughly should-width apart. Your feet may be a little closer together for shorter clubs and a tad farther apart for longer clubs such as the driver. If your stance is too narrow you will not get the power generated from your legs during the swing. It will also be difficult to maintain balance. If your stance is too wide it's difficult to complete a full turn. With a wide stance your hips will not be able to rotate freely which will prevent your from making a proper golf swing weight shift and rotation.. AlignmentProbably one of the most often misunderstood concepts in the golf swing setup is the alignment of your feet. While this golf stance tip may be obvious to some, it's not so obvious to all of us. You never want to aim your feet directly at the target.. You always aim your clubface at the target, and your feet simply form a parallel line with your clubface. If you aim both your feet and clubface directly at the target, you will have a closed stance which result in you hooking the ball left of the target.
