Natural Golf Schools - Are They Worth It?

Attending natural golf schools may be the answer to your golfing woes. If you love to golf but you have reached a point where your game is no longer getting any better, don't give up. You may want to consider changing your whole golf swing philosophy.

The standard golf swing is quite complex and requires impeccable timing. Also, the traditional swing typically results in either a fade or draw. The natural golf swing is much different. It's simpler because it uses your body's natural motion. You line up and aim at your intended target, and you will actually hit the ball straighter.

Natural golf schools teach you how to do the natural swing correctly. And since the natural swing is much simpler, your learning curve will be less. When considering natural golf instruction, here are some things that you should keep in mind...

Credentials

As with any type of instruction you should check up on natural golf schools and their credentials. Find out how long the school has been around. Most importantly, you will need to check out the instructors.

  • Are they golf pros or just instructors?
  • How good are they?
  • Have they actively competed on any tours and if so how did they do?
  • How long have they been playing with the natural golf method?

Class sizes

Class size is one of the most important things that you should check out for natural golf instruction. How big are their class sizes? The last thing you want to do is show up for school only to find that there are 30 people enrolled.

The highest ratio of students to teacher that you should consider is 5:1. This will help to ensure one-on-one time with the instructor.

What is Included?

When you are checking natural golf schools make sure that you are comparing apples to apples. For example many schools will include your breakfast and lunch in their fees. Some schools give you unlimited range time and balls for you to practice what you have learned.

One thing that maybe an extra but you should ask about is the possibility of playing at least 9 holes with your instructor. This will give you the ability to ask questions in "real" golf situations.

Once you have chosen which school you would like to attend there are some basics thing that you should know before your school starts. Being properly prepared will make your experience much better and you will not be surprised by anything.

Be Prepared Physically

Natural golf schools require a lot of work on your part. Schedule your school in advance so you can get yourself physical prepared to endure several days of non –stop golf.

Start by doing a little more exercise and make sure you include stretches. The last thing you want to happen is that you are so sore after the first day that you can barely swing the club on the second day.

Be Prepared Mentally

You need to be prepared mentally to learn an entirely different golf swing. Once you have learned it you will see how much better your golf game is going to be. But you must first "unlearn" your standard golf swing.

This reconditioning tends to be very frustrating at first. Preparing yourself mentally for your new swing will help reduce this frustration and can greatly reduce the learning curve.

Be Prepared with Supplies

You should make sure that your bag is packed with several key items. First if you use a glove, make sure that you have several extra gloves. You are going to be hitting lots of balls and you will most likely sweat through your gloves quickly.

Include extra socks this will help keep your feet dry as you hit ball after ball. Consider bring Band-Aids or tape as you may develop a few new blisters.

Natural Golf Schools

If you have decided to switch to natural golf you should consider attending a school that actually specializes in the natural golf swing. With proper instruction you can learn the swing quite quickly and incorporate it into your game in no time.

Unlike with a standard golf swing there are far fewer things that can go wrong with the natural golf swing. Keep in mind, this swing isn't for everyone. But if your curious, attending natural golf schools can get you started on the right foot.
